ICSE board cancelled class 10th examination, After the decision by the CBSE board, the Council of Indian school certificate examination (ICSE) has decided to cancel the examinations for class 10th and postponed the examination for class 12th. The decision has been taken for the safety of students, teachers, and other staffers amid the rising covid-19 cases in the country.
In an official statement the council said, “Given the present worsening situation of the Covid- 18 Pandemic in the country, the CISCE has decided to cancel the ICSE (Class X) 2021 Examination. The safety and wellbeing of our students and teaching faculty is our topmost priority and of paramount interest,”.
ICSE board cancelled class 10th examination, While for the class 11th admissions, the board has ordered all the CISCE affiliated schools to commence the admissions for class 11th. Also, schools should prepare a schedule to begin online classes for Class XI students at the earliest. The syllabus to be followed is the ISC 2023 syllabus.,” it said.
The decision for class 12th examinations will be taken later in a review meeting when the situation will improve from rising covid-19 cases. Before CISCE, the central board for secondary education (CBSE) cancelled the class 10th examinations and postponed the 12th examinations till the next announcement.
India reported a minor decline in fresh covid-19 cases with 259,170 new cases totalling the tally of active cases in the country to more than 2 million cases. On the other hand, the highest spike in the death toll has been reported to 1761 fatalities on 20th April. The state of Maharashtra has also witnessed a decline with 58924 fresh cases after reporting 68631 cases on Sunday. Many states have imposed night curfew and weekend lockdowns to curb the rising cases in the country.
