Registration for vaccination phase 3 will start this week for above 18 Indian citizens

Registration for vaccination phase 3, Due to increasing covid-19 cases in the country, the government has announced the beginning of 3rd pages of the vaccination drive from May 1.  All citizens above the age of 18 shall be eligible for getting vaccinated. While the registration on the CoWin app and Aarogya setu for phase 3 will begin this week. Mr R.S Sharma, chief executive officer of the (NHA) National Health Authority has said that the registration of citizens above the age of 18 will commence from Saturday.

On the other hand, the government has also modified the vaccination process. It has announced that manufacturers can directly sell the 50% of their production to the state governments on self-set transparent prices and the 50% to the central government. While private companies, hospitals and industries can also get the vaccine doses from the manufacturer company. Till now 3 vaccines that are covashield by Serum Institute of India, covaxin by Bharat Biotech and Sputnik-V by Russia have received permission for emergency use in the country.

The Serum Institute of India has announced that it will sell vaccines for Rs. 400 to state governments and Rs 600 to private hospitals. On the other hand, Sputnik V is sold at Rs 750 but negotiations are going on to fix a lower price.

India has reported the biggest spike in covid-19 cases with 3.14 lakh cases in a single day. Several states are dealing with a shortage of Oxygen and other medicines like Remdesivir. On the other hand, the Supreme Court has sent a notice to the central government asking about the plans for vaccination, medicine and oxygen supply to the country and plans to deal with the covid-19 crisis.

How to register for Covid-19 vaccination through the CoWIN portal:

  1. Log on to
  2. Enter your mobile number.
  3. Click on the option for OTP to create your account.
  4. Enter the OTP and click on the “Verify” button.
  5. You will be relocated to the registration of the vaccination’ page
  6. On this page, there will be an option to choose one photo ID proof.
  7. Fill in your details about name, age, gender and upload an identity document from the options.
  8. Click on the “Register” button.
  9. Once the registration is completed; the system will show the details.
  10. A citizen can further add three more people linked with this mobile number by clicking on the “Add More” button.
  11. There will be an option implying ‘Schedule appointment’.
  12. Now click on it.
  13. Search a vaccination centre of choice by state, district, block and pin code.
  14. Date and availability will also be displayed.
  15. Click on the ‘book’ button
  16. On successful completion of booking, you will receive a message.
  17. That confirmation details will have to be shown at the vaccination centre.
